Run By the Irish Benedictines it is a girls school, and former 19th century victorian wannabe castle. The grounds and Gardens are beautiful, The gothic church abbey and garden are worth visiting, it resides north of clifden.

This trip marks the first time my mother will be in Ireland. Her parents and older Brother were born there and we grew up with stories about their homes and experiences. I have some additional surprises in mind as well. This is why the title "Annes Ireland Saga" 3 weeks of covering as much "off the path Ireland" as posible

Jim, Uncle Jerry said to watch your Mom...she may want to become a nun in those beautiful Catholic Schools and she will never come home. Just teasing Anne.
One of the abbey looks familiar...that is where our great aunt was the Mistress of. (or what ever you call the head nun).
